  1. Jon was talking about having problems recording all in one session. What’s the best way to back up while you work? I always back up after every session to other hard drives and to DVD, but I had a hard drive failure in the middle of a session last week. The drive starting clicking, shut PT down and the drive would not mount. Thankfully it was a buddy deal adding drums for a demo so I just tracked it again. So what do you guys do to back up while working? Are there any programs that you like or do they seem to add a bog down to your system. Thanks for any info and keep the shows coming.

    • In the Massey Tools bundle (PT, Mac only) there is Slacker, which does backups in the background to another folder.
I haven’t used it myself though.

  2. you could set up your record drive with two physical drives in a mirrored RAID configuration. so for sudden HDD failure there is an exact copy of the drive already in the system.
i think, in that case, your session wouldn’t even have to stop. is that right?

  3. That would be great.I would just want it to mirror and PT not to be trying to read anything off the mirror HDD. Every problem I’ve had in playback has always been waiting for data from my hard drives. The pinwheel of death. Thanks for the info.
