Show 236 – From demo to release with Michael Adam, and an interview with Sydney Galbraith

Nice big show this week. We start off with a guest segment from Michael Adam who takes us through the recording process for one of the songs on his new album.
After that Jon has an interview with Sydney Galbraith, owner of Desert Fish Studios in Toronto, and bassist in Blackbelt. The interview covers studio construction, working on an analog console, the Toronto music scene, and food.

  1. Great episode! The drum sound really stood out on this one. Kind of hoping to get the same sound soon on a project.

  2. Love the segments like the opening one in this episode. If you guys are short on time for getting together to record, maybe you could just compile a few of these and release them as an episode.

  3. GSAA,

Liked the breakdown. the song works really really well. the only thing I couldn’t figure out is it the pulse in the drums in the beginning was my playback, or something in the mix.

the interview was great too. in another life time when I have some free time I’m going to go north of the border I’m going to go have some coffee. Btw, I guess whoever is keeping tally that’s a team Jon plus one.

I don’t always ride the chicken but when I do I drink premium coffee
